The Payment Agency for Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development has implemented a system that identifies the real agricultural land use situation based on orthophotographs

LPIS brings key benefits to farmers: the simplified submission of farm aid applications and transparent farm aid use.

LPIS (Land Parcel Identification System) is a system that provides information on agricultural land use.
The establishment of such a system is a requirement for receiving EU farm aid under area-based aid schemes. This project was financed by the World Bank.

LPIS is a GIS system based on orthophotographs or digital maps, and it has been established for the entire Croatian territory.
The implementation of the system included the development of software solutions for the identification of agricultural areas, integration with existing systems in the Agency, training employees and partners, building a data centre and equipping regional offices.
